| The building did not meet the Massachusetts Department of Education criteria. The new plans call for the renovation of the existing structure and expansion or improvement of the building where necessary. The design included the complete renovation and expansion of its auditorium, library, complete new circulation desk, new offices, new processing area, new staff area, new computer classroom, new media classroom, new community TV studio with control and editing rooms, and new equipment storage and repairs area. Hisham Ashkouri was the principal architect of this project.
