Dracut Town Hall

ARCADD, Inc. was commissioned to complete a site selection and design option study for the consolidation of the Dracut Town Hall and the Dracut School Department. The building was to house the Board of Selectmen, Town Manager's offices, Treasurer and Finance Director, Tax Collector, Assessor, Town Accountant, Sewer Department, Town Engineering, Planning Board, Building Department, Town Clerk, Inspectional Services, Health Department, Conservation and Recreation Department, Community Policing and Technology Department. The School Department will include the Superintendent's Office, Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds, Budget Officer, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable area, and Conference areas.

The study reviewed eight Town selected sites, including the rehab of one existing commercial retail building, replacement of Town hall at its existing site, refurbishment of an existing mill building and five other site options ranging from 2.2 acres to over 8 acres. The sites were all within a geographic central area in the Town of Dracut.

ARCADD, Inc. evaluated the eight sites in terms of suitability of size, road access, centrality and accessibility to Town functions and neighborhoods, surrounding areas, potential for ownership by the Town, future expansion, and any existence of hazardous materials. ARCADD, Inc. offered a cost base for each alternative site and provided the Town of Dracut with full set of recommendations regarding the best sites.
