Commissioned by Hoskins Scott Taylor & Partners, ARCADD continued the design services for the completion of the Inpatient Replacement Project, a 900-bed facility project at Massachusetts General Hospital . Dr. Ashkouri’s drawings include the schematics through construction documents. The design includes the pediatrics, intensive care, and in-patient wards from level 5 to level 18. The work also includes the design of the 3rd floor surgical suites and support facilities.

The design allows direct physical and visual access to patients from nurse stations, provides space for closets and storage, and also provides views to the outside. Shared unit support areas in typical in-patient floors include the unit manager's office, laundry lifts, consultation rooms, nurse's stations, head nurse's office, medication room, handicapped tub and shower, treatment room and storage for wheelchairs and stretchers, as well as housekeeping. An interview room and a conference room were also added. The design was created to allow space for administrative offices and medical libraries. The total project budget was $190 million.
