The design of the Brooklyn Bridge Park is based on the replacement of the National Cold Storage Buildings with an open and free structure consisting of four floors allowing public activities to intermingle with park activities. Above the four open stories is a hotel building exhibiting a very different structural identity and quality.

The bottom two floors of open and enclosed spaces will house boutiques, small specialty stores, family oriented restaurants, multi-food activities representing the various cultures in Brooklyn , as well as fine dining. The structure allows options for pavilion and atrium style spaces.

The hotel is located on the upper floors with a 5 to 6 foot ramp leading up to the Hotel entrance. This raised entrance will allow better view of the East River and Lower Manhattan.
