Gilsum Elmentary School: Common Area Facility

ARCADD, Inc is currently building a new gymnasium and common area facility at the Gilsum Elementary School for the Monadnock Regional School District in Swanzey, New Hampshire and the Town of Gilsum, New Hampshire. The addition is designed to accommodate a gymnasium, kitchen and eating area while maintaining an open atmosphere for congregation and gathering.

The estimated construction cost for the entire addition is $800,000. The project encompasses site evaluation, program verification, site development schemes, conceptual design with alternatives, schematic design, design and development, construction documents, bidding and construction administration services. ARCADD has developed a final facility program through meetings with the Construction Committee and will also develop educational specifications and a space allocation program.

ARCADD intends to integrate the new building into the site by building against an existing hill as shown in the perspective above. This design best utilizes the cut and fill for the entire site while allowing for parking and gathering areas. A pre-engineered truss system is being used for the roof to accomplish maximum design at a minimum cost.
